Bondi Partners National Security Advisor Mark Watson says the Taiwanese were "only too happy" to get plenty of coverage of Tony Abbott's meeting with the country's president.
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott recently visited Taiwan, delivering a speech in which he addressed Beijing’s aggression, saying he fears China could “lash out disastrously quite soon”.
Mr Abbott also discussed the issue of international solidarity with Taiwan.
"The fact is he met the president, and the Taiwanese were only too happy to get plenty of coverage of those meetings ... and to use it for their own propaganda purposes."
