Judge Slams Trump For Taking Advantage Of Stupid People

A Republican-appointed judge issued a stunning attack against Donald Trump in a trial of a Capitol rioter who was found guilty this past week by a jury. The judge blasted Trump as a "charlatan" who is taking advantage of gullible people, and said that the former President doesn't seem to care about democracy. On Thursday of last week, a jury convicted Dustin Thompson of six different counts, including one felony for his involvement in the capital riot. Thompson is now the third capital riot or to take his case to a jury. And he is also now the third to lose in that jury trial. But that's not really the main story here is it? The main story of course, is the George W. Bush appointed judge who oversaw the case. Judge Reggie Walton and Walton in his, I guess, final statement had some pretty harsh words for Don old Trump about him taking advantage of such stupid people, which for the record is basically the defense that Mr. Thompson's lawyers tried to argue in court. And clearly it didn't go over very well, but here's what the judge said. You know, I think our democracy's in trouble because unfortunately we have charlatans like our former president who doesn't in my view really care about democracy, but only about power.

And as a result of that, it's tearing this country apart. I have a concern that we unfortunately, American citizens who were so gullible that they were willing to accept what was being said without any proof that the allegations about the election had any merit whatsoever. People are just outraged at how they feel our system is not taking seriously. What happened on that day because of their fear of the future for this country. So Trump's a Charla. And of course the other problem with that is we got a lot of gullible people. The judge said as, so basically what he's saying is that Donald Trump came out here to took advantage of a bunch of stupid people and got them to storm the capital. And again, that actually is what the defense was trying to say. The defense in this case for Mr. Thompson had said, listen, Donald Trump is who authorized.

That's where they used, authorized this attack on the capital and our guy, you know, he was a little gullible. They admitted and you know, he kind of fell for it, got swept up in it and stormed the capital. But of course, like all of the other defendants who have tried to use the same defenses, which is a lot of them at this point, it doesn't work. It literally has not worked for any of the defendants. I can't believe these defense attorneys are still trying to use it because every time the judge or the jury, or whoever comes back out and says, yeah, you're right, Trump did do this. However, you still broke the law. So you are still going to jail. So yeah, Trump sucks. But, but so do you, don't be so gullible in the future. And gullible of, of course is a, uh, much nicer word than calling these people stupid. But Donald Trump himself has admitted that he likes the

Poorly educated. Remember that clip. I love the poorly educated. And this is why, because he as quite possibly the greatest conman of the last hundred years knows exactly how to manipulate these people. They don't know any better. And that isfor for those individuals, plenty of people have been duped by Donald Trump over the years, you know, to send him money. Then they realize, oh, we're getting screwed because they've taken money outta my account. Every month. I, I now have nothing I'm left with no money. Everybody who gets involved with this guy eventually gets screwed. Everyone who follows his orders eventually goes down and hopefully more people wake up to this as more and more of these capital riots go to prison. I don't know that I have a whole heck of a lot of hope for that, but people have to understand nobody who throws their lot in with Donald Trump gets a happy ending. And Mr. Thompson here is about to find that out as he's sits in jail, awaiting his sentencing, which isn't happening until July.
