Kema Goryaeva from Russia first worked for FIDE in 1999. For a few years, she didn't work for the organization but returned when there was a new management team that took over. With her years of experience, Kema was a quintessential part of the entire organizing team at the World Championship 2021. One of her main jobs was to ensure the safety of Magnus Carlsen and his team. We speak to Kema about her role in the event and also difficult was it to organize the entire event inside the Dubai Expo 2020.
