A popular go-to snack for locals in Belagavi is the Alepaak - a medley of puffed rice, peanuts, coconut flakes, fresh coriander et al over which is crumbled a spicy putaani (chickpea flour) laddu - in the ‘sweet’ company of a freshly extracted sugarcane juice. And Sheetal Rasvanti Gruha seems to be the adda to partake of this Belagavi tradition. Which is exactly what we did one rain-soaked evening during our recent dash into the city.
